Corporate Responsibility

ENVIRoNMeNT

It is imperative that everything we do, from farm to fuel, focuses on achieving the smallest possible carbon footprint. In saying this, we are proud to say that our vertically integrated, end to end fuel production process, will be a net-carbon negative operation. This solution will allow us to partly underwrite achievement of Paris Climate Agreement carbon emission targets for Australia.

Australia’s emissions from fossil fuels and industry continue to rise and, based on the most recent quarterly inventory, are now 6% above 2005 levels and increasing at around 1% since 2014. Under current polices these emissions are headed for an increase of 9% above 2005 levels by 2030, rather than the 26-28% decrease in these emissions required to meet Australia’s Paris Agreement target.

It is our vision to significantly help Australia on its way to reduce its total carbon emissions by producing high quality, greener, renewable fuels.

COMMUNITY

AgBioEn is focussed on the regional communities in which it operates. Importantly, AgBioEn has partnered with high profile Indigenous Australians, to provide opportunities for Indigenous communities to participate in the business, as well as the development of community program benefits.

AgBioEn’s first facility will be located in Katunga VIC, and it is important to us that we work closely with local businesses and the public to ensure we integrate with the local community in the most meaningful way possible.

Katunga Fresh, one of the regions most successful horticulturists, is the local sponsor for AgBioEn and is well recognised as one of Australias leading glasshouse horticulturalists.

Katunga, Goulburn Valley

Katunga has a long and proud history as a town community and thriving farming industry since the Katunga Post Office opened in 1881 and the railway station opened in 1888. It is these values that make Katunga an ideal location for the AgBioEn business, including the ability to integrate into the longstanding local agricultural supply chain and produce bioenergy for use locally within the region.

Producing bioenergy locally will allow local businesses to expand and also has the potential to have multi-industry benefits. For example, in addition to satisfying local energy needs, AgBioEn will supply renewable diesel for local transportation companies and bio-jet fuel for the aviation industry along with other by-products of the process including CO2 and renewable energy.
